What they’re LOOKING for

The Senior IP Engineer will be responsible for realising new application for the company's technology, specifically ensuring that the Intellectual Property (“IP”) generated by the team members is sufficiently captured, protected, and monitored - thus protecting the company's status.

What’s on the TABLE

Capture IP across the company’s activities, including R&D, Engineering, and LOB focussed programmes.
Organise and run brainstorms to explore, broaden and capture new ideas.
Liaise closely with the company’s patent agents to develop appropriate responses to IP examination reports and to prepare and file new patents.
Develop and implement the company’s IP Strategy.
Day to day management of the patent portfolio.
Planning and day to day management of the IP budget.
Oversee general IP policing and IP security within the company.
Feed-back ideas learned from patent searches to technical teams.
Coordinate and attend IP progress meetings with the legal team
Provide IP input to marketing material and the like, where applicable
Liaise with the New Ventures development team

Excellent organisational and time management skills to be able to prioritise to deliver results to deadlines.

Degree qualified in a suitable field, with higher levels of qualifications in a relevant field.
Detailed knowledge of the scientific theories utilised within the company's technology.
Sound and detailed engineering / scientific knowledge; both theoretical and practical.

In depth experience in a related and appropriate field of new technology.
Sound experience of Intellectual Property and patents and their application in a similar environment.
Strong experience of project work and proven ability to drive projects to a successful conclusion.
